What is the difference between Formwork Magnets and Shuttering Magnets?
Shuttering magnets are integrated magnetic boxes designed to secure side rails directly onto steel casting platforms using a mechanical on/off button mechanism. Formwork magnets refer to the broader category of magnetic fixtures, which includes magnetic rails, recess formers, and insert magnets used to hold internal tubes, electrical boxes, or lifting anchor sockets during concrete casting.
How does temperature affect the holding force of Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets?
Standard Neodymium magnets (N-grades) are rated for temperatures up to 80°C (176°F). Exceeding this limit causes temporary or permanent demagnetization. If your precast concrete plant uses thermal curing methods, we supply specialized high-temperature grades: M (up to 100°C), H (up to 120°C), SH (up to 150°C), or UH (up to 180°C).
Why is Ni-Cu-Ni plating preferred for industrial OEM Neo Dymium magnets?
Nickel-Copper-Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) triple-layer electroplating provides optimal protection against physical impact and corrosion. The initial nickel layer adheres strongly to the NdFeB material, the intermediate copper layer improves thermal dissipation and impact absorption, and the outer nickel layer delivers a durable, highly corrosion-resistant finish.
Can precast concrete shuttering magnets be used on rust-covered steel tables?
For maximum holding force, the bottom of the magnetic shuttering box must make direct contact with a clean, smooth steel platform. Rust, concrete residue, or oil build-up creates an air gap, which reduces the magnetic holding force significantly. Keeping your casting bed clean ensures the magnet achieves its rated holding force (e.g., 2100 kg or 2500 kg).
What is the average lifespan of an OEM magnetic fixing system?
When properly maintained (kept clean of concrete buildup, protected from corrosion, and kept within specified operating temperatures), our sintered Neodymium core assemblies retain their magnetic charge indefinitely, losing less than 1% of their flux density over 10 years of use.
