What factors determine the holding force needed for precast formwork?
The required holding force depends on the height and weight of the formwork, the type of concrete (lightweight vs. heavy aggregate), the vibration frequency used during casting, and the thickness of the formwork material. Standard applications typically use 900kg to 1300kg systems, while heavy-duty casting beds require 2100kg to 2500kg of pull force.
How does QCM protect NdFeB magnets from rust and physical damage?
We use a multi-step protection process. The inner Neodymium core is coated with three layers of nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) or epoxy to resist moisture. We then house the magnetic core in a heavy-duty, zinc-plated carbon steel casing. This outer casing acts as a physical shield and helps direct the magnetic flux for a stronger hold.
Can magnetic shuttering systems be used in steam-curing concrete setups?
Yes, but you will need magnets designed for higher temperatures. Standard NdFeB magnets begin to demagnetize above 80°C.
