View DetailsThe global demand for high-strength permanent magnets has shifted from basic holding components to advanced materials capable of operating under severe stresses. While Sintered Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) offers the highest energy product (BH max) up to 52 MGOe, Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) remains indispensable in high-temperature environments (up to 350°C) due to its resistance to thermal degradation and demagnetization.
Modern modern civil infrastructure requires building methods that minimize onsite work. Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) leverages powerful formwork magnets to cast modules offsite. Utilizing high-performance magnetic boxes ensures dimensional accuracy within 0.5 mm, eliminating structural deviation and drastically shortening onsite assembly timelines.
Industrial applications expose magnet assemblies to abrasive compounds, moisture, and alkaline concrete formulations. Quality manufacturers deploy advanced plating methodologies—including triple-layer Ni-Cu-Ni, Epoxy resin coatings, and high-integrity polyurethane sealing interfaces—to prevent moisture ingress and mechanical damage that could otherwise lead to structural fracturing.
B2B procurement departments are moving away from evaluating magnets on initial price alone. Smart buyers focus on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), evaluating lifetime durability, magnetic strength retention (reusable systems designed for >20,000 cycles), and ease of cleaning. A cheap magnetic block that loses its pull force after a few uses degrades construction tolerances, leading to expensive formwork failures. Investing in precision-calibrated rare-earth magnet boxes saves thousands in steel plate replacements and labor downtime.

NdFeB (Neodymium-Iron-Boron) provides the highest magnetic energy density (BH max) at room temperature, making it ideal for compact designs requiring high holding forces (such as shuttering magnets). However, its magnetic properties degrade at high temperatures. SmCo (Samarium-Cobalt) offers slightly lower holding force but maintains excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance at operating temperatures up to 350°C, making it essential for high-heat industrial processes.
Traditional wood or steel formwork requires drilling screws or welding directly to the steel casting table. This damages the polished surface, creating imperfections in the finished concrete panels. Magnetic shuttering systems clamp securely to the table via magnetic force, locking formwork in place without physical damage. When finished, they can be deactivated via a release lever, keeping the casting table pristine for thousands of cycles.
The choice of pull force depends on formwork height, concrete weight, and concrete vibration amplitude. For example, thin floor slabs (under 100 mm) usually require 600 kg to 1000 kg shuttering forces. Heavy structural wall panels (above 200 mm) with strong aggregate compaction processes demand 2100 kg to 2500 kg capacities to prevent displacement or mold blowout during casting.
Concrete residue and steel debris act as an air gap, which degrades magnetic holding power. Regular cleaning with a steel wire brush and concrete scrapers is essential. Avoid using hammers directly on the magnet box housing, and periodically apply release oil to the mechanical parts and outer casing to prevent concrete adhesion and rust.
